Our story

"But I could never do that"

I began as a trim carpenter after 15 years as a veterinarian technician with my brother Tim's company Turnkey Framing and Millworks on Sea Island and Saint Simons Island off the coast of Georgia. My first day on the job I carried around a hammer and followed my mentors. We did all trim work (baseboard, casing, crown molding) and cool add-ons like beams and specialty ceilings along with closets and built-in shelving. Our job was to make the framers look good and impress the painters.

My side hustle

I immediately gravitated to taking my new found skills and making them pet friendly, practical and artistic. So I built a couple of dog gates for my own home, along with any commissioned pieces. I got to build a custom kitchen island, magnificent built in bookcase in a historic home in Savannah and a piece on Pintrest that had tempted me for two years, my own living room table.

Honing in

I now have 10 years under my belt and will the first to tell you how daunted I feel by how much I have yet to learn. But I am lucky to have so many mentors be willing to share with me their knowledge and from there I glean my own path. Woodworking is the first profession I have found that combine my desire for all things precise and logical with the artist that wants to bring beauty to the world. Hope to see you along my journey.
